My name is Melodi Amor, and I was born in Lagartera. I’ve always had a knack for drawing but I never thought that I’d be able to create works like the ones I’m doing now. I have a passion for drawing, and it gives me peace of mind. I consider myself a self-taught artist and, as such, I express myself freely in my work, leaving aside external influences that might in some way condition my art. I aim for freedom in painting, I innovate and try out new techniques that rouse my curiosity. Many of my pictures are made with coffee, a technique that interests many people who have seen my work. I keep this technique to myself, I consider it very personal. In addition to coffee, I work with other materials such as pencil, acrylic, charcoal… I like to enhance the light in my work, highlight the vividness of the colours and take maximum care with the details.

I like art that, in some way, reflects the reality of people, objects, animals, etc. I see myself as a very animalistic person, so many of my works aim to reflect the beauty of animals. Moreover, I grew up in an environment where animals were always present, especially horses.

Another of my aims is to highlight the beauty of the embroidery on pieces of work like the Lagarteran costume or bullfighters’ costumes. This lets me awaken the interest of all those who have been able to enjoy embroideries. In a way, my work reflects the beauty of such detailed and valuable pieces.

Finally, I’d like to stress that I see myself as a humble person and I push myself hard in my work. I’ve never felt a need to show my art to the public, but I’ve been encouraged to show it by many people who are interested, and for that I’d like to say thank you.
